This is probably your very basic melee character, but since you said you solo, you probably want to set some stats into intelligence (I use 60 base) to build a mana pool so you can heal yourself while killing in the arena.
In this case (your basic):
Weapon: highest ee possible (staff/dagger)
Armor: str/dex and int/hm robes (any combo of the left and right) and ee if possible
Charm 1: str/dex and int/hm robes (any combo of the left and right)
Charm 2: ee heal
Some of those stats can be substituted though. Instead of getting the int/hm with the melee combo, you can substitute it with life steal.
Many people can and will attest to the usefulness of life steal on your gear so you don't have to heal nearly as frequently.
There are many different possible "hybrid" builds people utilize so it's tough to target a specific build, it's all about preference.

Really great advice, just to add a little.
A lot of people don't like monk but I love my monk they are great hybrid chars and fun to solo.
One thing you are definitely going to want to do on HC for monk is stat your VIT up to 50 immediately.
I stat VIT to 50 then put the other starter points into INT, then stat INT until i get 50 hard points in it. After that (which is currently lvl 24 for me) I stat melee.
