It's really pretty much equal imo between EE and stat gear. Stat gear will allow you to kill faster but will give you shorter chains than EE gear meaning an increase in regen time.
What you could do if you haven't already is buy a heal charm set and stat ~50 total Int and use stat gear and that will give you an increase in chains while still giving you a faster killing speed
Also, if you plan to solo quite a bit I would aim for ~100 dex. I'm not sure what your stats were, but most people prefer around that number to protect agains crits in the arena.
