I use the character listed in my profile page to cook fish. I purchased some higher level fish recently (life was like 54 each uncooked). I was unable to fully cook the fish due to my low proficiency status, but I was gaining good experience from just partially cooking them. The problem is that I am unable to catch fish with that high of life yet, and when I cook fish that I do catch with say 49 life on them, I get no experience towards my proficiencies. Is there a glitch maybe, or am I doing something wrong? I think I should get some experience regardless of fish I'm cooking Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating indeed

once you hit your first fishing prof, you wont be able to cook sardines anymore and get prof. you'll need to cook herring to get your prof.

you could try and get your fishing prof up, or when you go to fish, choose lvl 5 instead of the preset lvl 4. that should solve your problem

nope, no glitch. the trend follows every 5 levels for cooking. at prof 1 you must cook herring, at prof 6 you must cook cod, at prof 11 you must cook trout, etc, in order to gain proficiency experience.
