I can't seem to get this transmuteing thing to work. I found a guide that is older than Jesus Christ himself and it doesn't work. Could some one explain to me how this works or link me to a guide that is up to date? Thanks so much.

throw one item in there and mute it to get an essence

throw an item and an essence in there and you get a rerolled item.

keep in mind proficiencies limit you in what you can mute.

because your proficiency limits what you can and cannot mute.
