Whats the diffference between the two different defenses when trying to figure out what armor to use???

Physical - refers to Melee attacks.
Magical - refers to Casting attacks.

Most people like abalance of those which would be either Scales or Plates :)

Best Def vs Melee = Plate / Chain
Best Def vs Magical = Robe
Balance Def vs Melee / Magical combined = Scales / Leather

Stats can help defense:
Vita = Physical
Int = Magical

Stats can help defense vs Critical Strikes:
Dexterity = Physical
Intelligence = Magical
