That's not exactly what I would suggest.

Vitality is not the same overpowered skill it is in Diablo II.

It all depends on what weapon you plan on mainly using.
If sword -- Get your dex to ~110 with your gear on at level 55. Put the rest into strength.
If axe -- pump every point into strength, and use a strength charm as well.

PM me with any further questions. :)

Damn, this is the first time I've ever seen you post advice in here which doesn't resonate well with me :(

Personally I believe that weapon choice shouldn't have any effect on how you place your stats. If I remember correctly, it was actually proven a while ago that axes receive more of a benefit from dexterity than swords do (can't remember the topic though), but anyways I would suggest getting your dex around 80 - 100 (if you're playing primarily catacombs, if you choose arena then ~120 is optimum) after gear at level 55 and put the rest in strength. The easiest way to do that is probably to just put your first 10 points into dexterity and then the rest into strength and then try to get a charm and/or armour with dexterity on it. Alternatively, you could dump all your stat points into dexterity and then get strength gear, but strength gear is typically much more expensive than dexterity gear.
Another option, and definitely the easiest one, is to just go the all strength route. All stats into strength, strength charm and EE armour -_- it's easy and effective, especially on a fighter. You might get ripped up a bit from higher level mobs because of your low dexterity, but the EE armour should negate a lot of that.

Feel free to PM me if you've got any questions about anything I just said or whatever.

Oh and by the way, don't ever put any stat points into vitality unless you're playing a caster or on hardcore, in my opinion at least ^_^

:wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :wacko:

ok let me try to help

Str = Strength
Dex = Dexterity
Vita = Vitality
Int = Intelligence

Str - increase base dmg
Dex - increase crit rate + reduces crit dmg from enemies
Vita - Increases Hp Per Lv(Base Vita ONLY) + Physical Defense
Int - Increases Mana Per Lv)Base Vita ONLY) + Magical Defense

since you wanna go melee you shouldnt worry about Int, it might somewhat increase magical defense but it is not highly worthwhile until you start getting better with the game and learn how to play.

now you only have to really worry about 3 stats

if you are planing to add vita only do it at first

do not add str or dex then add vita later on

it will be less worthwhile

finally the thing about dex

i find there is about 4 different ranges

45 ~ 60 - (this is the starting range to just reduce dmg, atleast get to this point for ANY melee character)
60 ~ 75 - (this is the next point and the recommended point for a melee class if you are having a fg issue or starting out, slightly higher dex over the 45~60, better crit rate and defensive vs crit attacks)
75 ~ 90 - (this is the point and the recommended point for a melee class much higher dex over the 45~60 and 60~75 but worthwhile, much better crit rate and even more defensive)
90 ~ 120 - (the recommended final point, after this range +dex is not worthwhile. this range gives the greatest crit rate and best overall reducing for high lv's although to reach this range for starters you would have to give up too many stats over str and not made for starters)

I mean, I understand where you're coming from.
But I don't for see any brand new members getting very far soloing anyway.

Sure if you have the resources, you can get your dexterity to around 80-100.
I did that on my paladin my first climb with axes, and tried no dexterity the next climb.

I found that I was more useful to my catacomb team when I was doing high consistent damage.
Leave the high criticals and dexterity to the Monks and Ninjas, and for those of us who choose to take the sword path.

Just my opinion ^_^ Agree to disagree I guess.

While I do agree that monks and ninjas will be doing much better with high dexterity, I don't think that it's a good thing to be telling new players that your stat placement ALL depends on your weapon choice.

That's just me though ^_^
