for stats, you should go str/dex, keeping str about 20 points ahead of dex, and hopefully ending up with about 100dex (if not more including items).
for weapons, you could go for axes, but you can also go for clubs since they're cheaper than the other weapons. you also want enhanced effect on the weapons so it'll increase the damage on the weapon.
for armor, you can either go for an ee armor (if going ee, i suggest using leathers/scales if the ee is over 100 since it helps you tank better than chains or plates) or a stat armor (either str/dex)
for charms, you should go for either a str or a dex charm to help your melee damage. dex charms are generally cheaper than strength charms
