Looking for someone that can do good in Solos and Group catacombs, preferable somewhere in the middle or back& melee ,don't want to feel the pressure of keeping the team alive in the front..On my first character anyway, but if you have a reason to why its easy, I could re-consider, all opinions are welcomed and appreciated.

You guys should both switch to either Fighter or Barbarian
Stick with these guys and try out Catacombs and get some master quests, maybe sell them, find gear.
Once you're a little sturdier, or if you even pass, you can try out a samurai or other builds.
When you get here (since I know you'll be life time slashers) you can PM me and I'll explain different and more advanced builds.

Hope this helped.
As always, message me with any questions, comments, or concerns :)

I hate being a brutish basher, I prefer a less simplistic approach rather than just sit there and smash, but since a person of your stature is telling me to be a barb, I should try it out, two questions.
What would I put my stats into & a dumb one, is a fighter in any way better/funner?

Well there are pros and cons to both character types.

With a fighter, you are more able to use swords to their full effectiveness and ultimately do more damage.
With a barb, you can do more consistent damage and higher consistent damage than with a fighter, and tank a little better.

Both characters are ideal for tanking though, so don't think you have to be a barbarian to tank.
I can explain Mage to you if you'd like, but these are the starting classes.

For a barb, look for Enhanced Effect axes while pumping every point you have into strength.
Look for Enhanced effect scales, leathers, chains, or plates.
For a charm, strength is key, look for it and get it in high amounts.

For a Fighter, it's a little more complicated. Use swords with enhanced effect of course.
Get enhanced effect scales, leathers, chains, or plates.
For a charm, get enough dexterity to get you to ~105 dexterity when you are at level 55. Yes this means put as much dexterity points into it as you need for this to be possible.
It's a math game kinda like D2, you have to test the first time to get it right the next. Pump your remaining points into Strength.

Whoa, was not expecting to see that much information! Its good, cause I hate being classed as a Barbarian, does the fighter still have the same health, and just to be clear, I pump as many pts as I can into dex on a fighter til 105 dexterity and then strength, because I have no clue what kind of dexterity charms I will have at level 55.

Read up about the two classes here
They have different starting stats, thus they are played differently.

Get your dexterity to about 80 without your charm, you'll be able to find a 25 dex - 30 dex charm easy for very small forum gold.
But yes, after that it's all strength.

Ladder slasher is a completely different game than Diablo II (if that's where you came from)
There is no "hammerdin" or anything. Barbarians are just as valued as any other character. They are actually one of the best tankers in the game, which is a very highly valued quality in catacombs.

I understand the differences of the two, thank you for clearly this whole ordeal up for me though, see you in the Catacombs!

I would only recommend it on certain characters. Not the Barbarian or Fighter.
