just wanted to ask, should i play HC or not, and what's the best char to start out with(i got barb) ? thanks.

HC is hard, you loose all your stuff and unlocked classes if you die once.
but you might gain more. that's the risk.

start by putting the first 10 stats into vitality if you decide to play HC

join hc mate and remember to run when get to half of life!!
