How do they get exp? my first mage so i got no idea

you attack with your weapon when you're not healing. whysomanythreads

do i get some kind of exp when i heal?

you get exp every kill just like everyone else inthis game. you don't get exp for attacking, you get exp for monsters dying.

if your actions are low, however, you won't get as much exp like you should. so attack monsters when you're not healing
