So I found pikustan's guide and it doesn't go much detail into type of weapon etc.

Pure str is usually for axes, it keeps a high consistent damage.
You can also go all str for clubs/ swords, and just get all dex gear and shoot for ~ 110- 120 dex.

weapon type makes no difference to the amount of str vs dex you should get.

you probably should get at least 80 dex, preferably 100 (depending on gear quality) for defensive purposes. chuck the rest into str.
