does what kind of item dropped into well matters?

like if i drop a charm into well will it hit me with magic damage?
and since mage is mainly int wouldn't that help with defense a lot more than if i drop a sword/axe?

Whatever item you drop into the well the monster will use against you.

His stats aren't necessarily located into places that benefit using that piece of weapon sometimes they are sometimes they aren't.

I personally find armors / charms to be some of the easiest things to well on my mage.

Mages will generally have a hard time against any sort of heal charm.

since a well monster uses the item you threw in, if you chuck in a heal then the only way the monster can attack you is with a weapon (since its charm slot will be taken by the heal). and you'll notice that on a robe wearing character.

likewise if you biff in a robe and you're playing melee, you'll find it easier than if you threw in a plate.
