So basically I want to start playing LS as a way to kill some time, and eventually make some FG while I'm at it :D

I have some decent FG to start with, even if it's not the most. What I -don't- have, is knowledge of LS in general!

So which class should I choose to play if I want to eventually make FG playing LS, that will also be a good starting class for someone who has no chars yet? How should I build them, and what items should I be getting to assist my leveling/grind, and what methods will I be eventually using to make some FG in the process with this char?

Thanks for any input!

Making fg off of LS is a bad idea. However magician would be best class for what your looking to accomplish.

weapon - int
armor - int
charm - EE offensive
acc.charm - EE heal

at level 64 you can do well bosses and hope a nice item pops out.

I'd recommend putting your initial first 10 stat points into vit and then all succesive stat points into int.

Make a solo mage imo.

Weapon: Intelligence, like 30-40 int. (you need like 2, 1 for lvl 20-35ish and 1 from higher lvl than the other one you get.)
Armor: Intelligence
Main Charm: Attack charm with EE
Acc. Charm: Heal charm with EE

All stats go into int.

I'm no pro at casting, as i never have but that's like the basic build.

Ok so I created my mage, and invested the first 10 into vitality. I randomly joined a group, and in a flash my life started to drop and I had no clue what was going on rofl. Is killing/etc always this fast paced? Can someone explain to me something as simple as what I should be doing in a joined group?

Also I'd like to get my brand new player items bought, as a mage.

Can anyone make some reccomendations on stats/exactly what I should be looking for, and how much it will cost? I just don't want to rip myself off etc. I checked out the market place and noticed that my FG is directly used by the game, which is interesting. Almsot everything that I originally look up costs 1 fg, and that seems appealing to me, but that also leads me to believe I can get a lot better if im willing to spend more XD

So what should I be buying if I'm willing to spend upwords of 100+ fg per item for my starting set? Is this an overkill investment?

With your fg, you have a couple different options IMO (I have done both of these):

1) Mage (either get HM gear and cata up to Welling levels and get Welling gear, or get Arena gear and climb yourself)
Pros: You can well all the white items easily, which is one of the best ways to HOPEFULLY get some nice items. Higher levels are decently fast for Mages.
Cons: You just spent a lot of FG on the Mage gear, what happens when you pass? You have to either get Heavy Caster gear for Sammy/Pally, or get some lesser gear for Melee.

2) Melee (I suggest Hybrid Melee style)
Pros: you will get some decent gear that can get you through catas pretty quick, if no catas are available, Hybrid allows for doing arena as well. If you get swords, you will have useable gear for the first 3 classes.
Cons: either no Well Mage, or a weak one at that, higher levels in Arena kinda suck for melees.

Feel free to PM me if any more questions, I'll do my best to answer them.
