I got around 2.2k to spend, and I'm searching for a build that ofc effective in catas, but hopefully also able to do more than a few kills pr. regen in arena.
So, what build will do best with gear worth 2.2k fg in your opinions? ^^

Personally thought of a fighter, but i don't know really.

Magician would work well if you want catas and arena...just buy a dmg charm set and a heal charm set + Int and heal mastery gear and you'll be straight for whatever you wanna do.

Don't know..My fucking samurai no matter how I seem to build it w/ my current gear can't seem to get over about a 7 or so chain in his gear...E.G. best I've gotten in his level 40 gear was like 8?

Armor 45 Dex Plate
Charm 37 str Ice charm

Even with that gear that I would consider perfectly good..I can't achieve but single digits. However I'm a firm believer that EE plates w/ +stats or Decent amounts of LS on plate / charm is the way to go.

Plain EE would work though.


My 55 gear is a 130 ee dagger 57 dex charm..then usually a str plate if i'm cataing. However i'm strongly considering purchasing a 55 EE plate and if I like the results a set of them as I get higher chains.

but for a whole set from let's say 15 or 20 or so to MQ, how much fg would that be? for something fairly decent, making me able to solo if necessary all the way.

if you're thinking "fighter" you can easily spend all your fg on one weapon
but for more functional use, you could get away with only a few armor/charm upgrades and spend the rest on a weapon set

It all depends on your stats..My personal opinion is its pointless to pay multiple thousand more fg for a weapon that isn't going to give you a significant damage boost over a comparable lower stat item.

The very maximum I'd buy EE for a Mq weapon of any sort except maybe charms is 150 EE..thats just my personal limit..But over 130 EE is by no means necessary.

Hell you can get it done w/ as low as 100 ee but on a mq I try to get 120+ if at all possible.

I'd go for a sword build maybe...(Swords can be used on most feeder classes samurai and paladin all in a row) however to warn you that is a very expensive route as far as cost is concerned so you may not want to use swords..

Personally I have an axe / Dagger set both. I use axes on my feeder (unless its a mage class) then dagger on my sammy, axe on my pally dagger on monk / ninja

and if you get higher than that you'll probably end up being warlock? (casting class) I believe..then headhunter (use axes again) then final class can't use weapons.

So if you buy a dagger / axe set you can do all but the casting classes without worrying about cost of swords.

so; melee is expensive, and might not be something I should aim for with only 2k fg.
but how well will a mage do with 2k-gear?

I'd go for a healer mage, they are always welcome in the catacombs, and medium HM/int items are not that expensive.
All what you need is few hm items, first slot charm with hm/int if you want ( boosts the heal really good and heal charms.

Depends what you plan to do with it.

If your only objective is reaching MQ.

You could do like markov says. (As healers are almost always welcome in catas and are easy to find parties who want your services)

Buy Good Heal Mastery Gear and a heal charm set.

and imo a few daggers with EE to melee with up to level 20 with.


This is all my opinion from this point on:

level 0 50-60 EE dagger
Level 10 60 EE dagger (50 would do)
Level 20+ HM Daggers
Level 20+ HM Robes
Level 20+ HM Main Charms
Level 20 Decent Focused Heal (eh..60 ee would work again)
Level 25+ You probably want to try to go for 100+ EE focused heals at this point though they are by no means necessary.
Replace your heal charm every 10 levels up to 55 (35 100 ee is still fine) 45 (115 ee would be nice) 55 (130 EE would be good)

Of course those suggestions are expensive. So go new 100 EE focused every 10 levels from 25+ (You'll still be doing fine w/ that ee those other ones I suggested are just rather ideal while still being not insane in prices but out of your range @ 2.2k)

HM gear I don't *Think* is affected by the level of the item like EE is..So if you just get some oh..30+ HM Robe/Primary Charm/ Dagger (or staff!) items as early on as possible you'd be fine.

More is better of course but 30% on each is plenty sufficient.

Sorry if this is a little too TL;DR for you I'm just trying to give you good advice while also trying to make sure its plain enough someone not familiar with LS can understand.

Oh one other thing...You don't NEED 100 EE on 25+ charms..you can go lower and still be a welcomed healer..but since your only reason for being in a party as a healer mage is healing..you don't want to go so low on EE that people see you as so weak you're not even worth having in the party.

I used to use a level 50 8X ee heal and people still welcomed me because of my 30+ HM on each piece of my items made my heals still worthwhile.

So like..as low as 80 ee is still acceptable if not as appreciated as 100 would be.
