Yes I know this is a nooby question, but I don't have extensive melee experience, especially in catas.

Just wondering if a Robe would be enough for a Hybrid Melee char (Fighter, Sammy and Pally) 70int, ~80-90dex, rest str.

I have this robe:

Angelic elvan padded robe
Level Req: 25
Defense: 0 to 23

+15 Strength
+23 Dexterity
+1 Critical Strike
+2% Magical Damage Reduction


But would I take too much damage with that? Should I seek out a Chain or a Plate? I am sure that if I wanted to do solo at all, for the times when no groups are around, I'd probably want a Heavy Armor right?

I'd end up using that robe if I ever get to Monk of course.

Any decent stat plate will be way better than a robe if you are planning on going solo imo.

Would a nice EE plate work? I've already got a couple lower level EE plates. Continue the trend perhaps?

I have heard that killing speed (str / dex) tops ee... If you plan to go hybrid tho you should go for match str, dex or ee with hm / int.

in catacombs an ee plate will be awesome, especially with your build.

with int/dex/ee, you'll take very little damage in catacombs. a dream tank, in other words.

If you have a good enough robe, charm and weapon then you shouldn't have too much of a problem hybriding solo or cata.
