put 1 magical tier 1 item in the mute box, transmute that into an essence, take that and another magical tier 1 items and put that into the mute box transmute and you have a new item :)

* the higher your prof gets the higher level items you can transmute
** on occasion when you transmute a magical essence with a magical item it will give you a white item which is completely normal :)

In even slower words....that is an old guide ;)

Transmutation has changed since the update. It is now as xxtmanxx describes.

If you want to work up your prof. You need to get a bunch of Magical/Rare Tier I items. Transmute the essences from them (the essences stack btw). Now take another Tier I item and place that and an essence in the two slots and transmute that to get a rerolled item.

Proficiencies are a passive addition to the enhanced effect given to the item or skill it represents. Additions to proficiency levels are represented as ranks. You gain progress for your proficiency by using the given item or skill. For example, if you use a sword, you will work towards improving your sword proficiency. If you successfully fish, you will gain progress towards your fishing proficiency.

Deaths reflect negatively on all of your weapon and charm proficiences and will lose a percentage of your accumulated progress if you die. With crafting proficiencies, you are unable to lose any percentage for failing to complete a certain crafting task, or by death.

I have lvl 18 in muting proficiency and can mute up to lvl 15 arcane items

does transmuting get more volatile the higher the grade item? like would an arcane item be more volatile than a magical item?

No, actually the higher you go the less volatile it is... like to begin with ill click on transmute for 20 seconds and then click on stability for 10 seconds and so on... its usually pretty stable just slow going haha

For your first prof, your best bet is to stick with magical-mystical tier 1's :)

xxtmanxx i totally appreciate all the help you have given.

next q. why do we transmute if we can only change around teir 1 items? even if they were super godly, wouldn't they be pretty useless after lvl 4? i am completely missing something special about this. could someone explain to me the missing link?
