Ok, so last two climbs on my pally I've run into two problems.
The first problem is being in a group with a mage that cannot heal efficiently enough to sustain the group for 1+ levels at a time.
The second problem is that I have struggled to find cata groups with efficent tanks. (alot of barbs with str or dex plates these days)
I've come up with a build that could either work or fail horribly. I'm currently testing it out and will continue to update it here.
The idea is to create a secondary healer who can easily sit at the front and take very little damage while also dealing average damage. If this is a successful build, I'll write a guide for it.
Char: Paladin/Guardian, these are probably the two best chars for this idea as the have nice str/dex/vita as well as int
Stats: 40-50 Intelligence will give around 3.5k mana @ level 35 or 4.8k @ level 50

Possibly too high for a secondary caster?
Rest into vita to create a tank
I'll do some proper calculations to work out life/mana @ levels when I get up tomorrow (too late atm!)This is the main area where I'm unsure what to do and would like opinions on it
Another idea is to get 60ish dex so he crits often enough
Gear:
Ee axes/clubs. Imo this is the only way to deal decent average damage constantly. Swords could be an options but the high crits don't out-wiegh the low end damage as this build will have low dex.
Ee chains/plates. Obvious for being a tank. Huge bouns would be HM but very rare and pricey!
High Hm charm. I'll do some calcs tomorrow on this but from skim reading Autism's thread on HM vs Int it appears HM is better for low Int characters. Obvious bonus would be int
High ee Heal in acc. Lower mana cost and still decent heals.
If it works out as I hope (fingers crossed) I'll end up with a pally that can deal damage, secondary heal and tank anything thrown at him
He should also be good for soloing.
Iso your opinions
