1. To enter the game with no fg and make it enjoyable will be hard for you. Best bet is to find a LS guild that caters to new players and hope they can provide moderate items to you to help you climb.

2. As far as build, try to make a fighter or barb and work towards what these guides advise for stats.

Short helpful guide:

2.1 Fighter
Weapons he can use: Swords, Clubs, Axes
Armours: All
Melee: All points into dexterity until you reach about 120-130 dexterity WITH items. Rest into strength then.
If you do not have good gear, you may put the first 5 - 10 points into vitality in hardcore mode.

2.2 Barbarian
Weapons he can use: Swords, Clubs, Axes
Armours: All
Possible Stating:
Melee: All points into dexterity until you reach about 120-130 dexterity WITH items. Rest into strength then.
This char is very cheap. All you need is a high defence armour, maybe with strength or vitality, a medium weapon with enhanced effect and a charm with vitality,
strength, max life or life steal. Dexterity gear is more expensive. Another possibility: Put all points into strength for a higher basic damage, but low chance on critical hits.

3. As for making fg, your best bet to start out with is put all your angelic+ tierI items on the MP and hope they sell. You can create up to 16 characters, each are allowed to have 8 items forsale, and tranfer items between them to maximize your selling potential.
