I'll only touch on issues I know about and someone else can come in and tell you about things I do not know.

The amount of damage you take from a caster mob IS affected by your level of INT..but it is not definite you will take more damage at 5 int than 80 int though the probability is probably very high.

Why this is is because INT helps prevent magic mobs from Critting you with their magic attacks as much. Think of it kind of like Dex is used to prevent physical crits from being so abundant VS your character..INT does the same thing for magic.

If the magic mob never hit a crit before you killed it then at 0 int vs 80 int it doesn't matter because he didn't crit you anyway..but if you're weaker and can't finish things quickly the longer the fight goes on the higher the chance the mob will critical and then yes you would take more damage than someone with 80 int at that point.

From people I'd trust that I've heard it from supposedly if you're making a tanker or something some points in INT can help tank a noticeable amount more damage due to not getting hit so hard from magic crits.

(As an EE plate only protects you versus physical damage and does nothing to help you tank magical)

There isn't such thing as a crit when it comes to casting - however there is an 'amp' on the damage.

This amplification of the damage depends on the attackers int vs the defender's int. if the defender's int is higher, then the damage will be reduced, to a possible limit of 50%. If the attackers is higher, the damage will be higher, up to a maximum of 150% of the original damage.

(if that makes sense)

There be a should be a big difference between 5 int and 80 int as far as defence vs casters goes.

this

and also, the amp is a constant factor that doesn't change for any given monster
so say a monster has 33% amp against you
he won't do from 0-33 or a range or anything
it'll just be his spell damage always gets a 33% bonus
