I want to build a mage and use him strickly for welling at lvl 71. I still need to get a heal and a dmg charm for him but I dont want to get the best I can find. I just want to get a heal and a dmg charm that is just enough to be able to do the well with success. Does anyone know or suggest how high of a heal and dmg charm I will need. Maybe someone that has a weller mage that wells all the time and know about what I will need to get. Like I said I dont want to get the best charms I can find I just want ones that are just high enough ee to be able to do the well with success. For the dmg charm I am thinking about going earth and probably just a regular heal not wild or focused. Any help is appreciated.

130 on each for ee with at least 35 int for both items should have you welling at about 95%

A cheap but very effective setup would be a ~120 ee level 55 earth, a ~120 ee level 55 regular heal, and a 30+ int weapon and robe.

Anywhere between 120-130 Enhanced effect on both damage and heal are sufficient, as is 30 intelligence on the weapon and robe.
If I were you, though, I would well at around level 66, rather than 71. In my experience, it is easier at that level, and you're still
able to get the level 55 drops.

64 would be even easier as this is the earliest level that can yield level 55 secondary drops!!!

Unless you have a specific reason for wanting to well at level 71. Which would make the monster level 72...

I don't think the monster can surpass 71

But having a monster that equals you at level 71 is a bad thing. Considering you could just stop at 64 Get 55 drops and then the monster would be weaker and easier to kill.

However if you *Surpass* 71 each level above 71 is an advantage you have over the welling monster (From what I heard)

So lets say a level 80 mage versus a level 71 welling monster it may actually end up easier on you.

However reaching level 80 would be very hard as most cata groups stop after 71 and soloing will only continue to get much harder as you progress in levels above 71...or at least thats my understanding.

(I could be wrong on that last part)

Point here is unless you plan on going well above 71 stopping at 64 is a better option.

Correction: the highest monster level in arena is 70, but the highest monster level in wells (and I believe catacombs too, but I might be wrong) is 75. So welling won't get any easier until level 75.

So since you can't summon monsters in arena past level 70 you get terrible experience fighting monsters lower than your level, which is what makes it difficult to get to 80+.

Personally, I've tried welling both at 64 and at 75+, and I found it to be significantly easier at 64. Maybe if I went a ways above level 75 it might have gotten easier, but that's pretty difficult to get significantly above 75.
Basically, I think that the best strategy is to climb your mage to 64 and then well from 64 - 71, then MQ at 71 and repeat the whole process. That way you get guild points and proficiencies - both of which you wouldn't gain if you created a suicide weller.
