There is no "best" weapon. It depends mostly on personal preference. However some things should be considered when deciding on weapons. Such as future use. Swords are able to be used by the most classes, where clubs, for example, are used by a less ammount. Each weapon type has it's pros and cons. Axes provide very steady damage and can be used for a lot of chars, Swords offer huge criticals but also those annoying "O"s. Clubs are in between but can only be used for a few classes. Sorry to dissappoint with the no "best" weapon, but it's all about what you prefer.
