hello everyone im new to this, i have two simple questions:

1. how much fg would it take to buy some good stuff for my first character?
2. also which characters are pretty good for first characters?

for a first char i wld say a weller(magician)

usually 4-5k will get you a decent one

place all stat points into intel(maybe 5 into vita at beginning for the first time

200 fg could get you a barb. with 50-60 ee on plate and wepons for every 5 levels. and just get a 25-35 dex/str charm for 20-40fg

imo make a healer guardian.

Obv you will not be able to solo but everyone loves a decent healer in catacombs.

Shouldn't cost you too much,

All stats into intel.

Your weapon/armor/main charm should have Heal Mastery, and your heal charm (wild, heal, focused) should have as much ee as possible

this is true but i wld say not for beginners as you will have no way to make fg to make anything else..unless you just want to mq alot and thats it

which you can just sale your gp's to a guild(which currently no guilds are offering anything worth the effort)

well about 3k fg for it (:
-take a fighter, they are simpel and effecty

fighter and barb is farely cheap but slow in high lvls

mage is a little bit more expensive and way more effective
