A lot of people say a lot of things, but that doesn't mean that it applies to any given individual's situation though.
115-120 dexterity may be considered ideal, but if you can't keep a solid amount of strength with that much dexterity you could consider going lower. Try to keep a balance between your str/dex. If that means going 100str//85 dext for you, then that'll be ok.
