I finally got to rank 1 in cooking, but now no matter how much I cook, the percentage stays at 0. Could someone please explain what I need to do to continue the climb in cooking? Are there different fish? Do I have to be at a certain rank in fishing to get to higher fish to cook?

you wont receive any points cooking sardines, you have to cook herrings.

How do I get herrings? Do you have to use a certain fishing pole? Do you have to be a certain rank? Or does the fish have to be a certain level?

You have to be level 5 fishing, I believe.
