Right so... i've read over the guides on how to play slasher, but i'm still unsure of what is going on in some places...

First question: Is there anything that you wish you knew before starting that you know now?

Second Question: What, in the guides, is meant by tier?

Third Question: Best Character for a starter?

Forth Question: When first starting out... what should be done first... arena play, catacombs solo?

Thank you all, if i have more questions i will be asking them

1. Softcore is for girly girls. Hardcore is where it's at :P
2. Tier is regarding the level requirement, for example: tier 1 and tier 3 both have lvl 0 requirement, but tier 3 allows for more stats. Tier 4 has a lvl 5 requiere, tier 5 has a lvl 10, and so on and so on.
3. I like the fighter, doesn't take much forum gold and great for catacombs.
4. Unless you spend a lot of fg, soloing arena will be hard. I'd recommened arena 1-20 then catacombs 20-71.

Ty, but should i be playing hardcore from the start???

Since soloing arena will be hard and i don't intend to spend alot of fg, should i still follow 1-20 arena? or go straight to catacombs, or hell just group up with people and tag along

SC > HC. SC has more players, more groups, cheaper items, and if you die you don't lose everything you bought and all the progress you made.
Arena is easier until at least level 10 with average gear, and from there it'll depend on what gear you choose to get. If you don't at least spend a minimal amount of fg every 10-15 levels for gear upgrades, people may boot you from groups for not contributing anything worthwhile.

I agree that fighter is a solid choice to start out with. Try to get a good balance between strength and dext with your stats (can add 5-10 vit at the start if you like).
Weapons you'll want enhanced effect to increase damage, armors and charms you want strength and dexterity. That'll get you a basic fighter build to start out with.
I can answer any more questions if you have them.

Is it not possible to find good items as you go, i'm playing slasher to try and learn it and to make fg... or will I be basically forced to get good items so that i can then find good items and hope to make some kind of a profit

You don't need to start out with great items. Just spend a few fg in the right places and it will make your climbing a lot easier.

It'll be much, much more difficult if you don't spend any fg at all. And if you get a decent set of climbing gear then you can easily make fg from doing that over and over and finding good items.

Personally I like magicians but you'd probably have to spend more fg on it as a beginner, unless you decided to be primarily a healer in catacombs (but that's not much fun in my opinion, I prefer Arena :) )

It's possible, but you need to buy an application called LogMeIn and then you leave your computer on and connected to the internet and then you can remotely access it and use it with your iphone or ipod touch. Apparently there are a bunch of people who do it, I'll try to dig up the thread on it ;)
