When I first started a sammy I put the first 10 into vit, made sure I'd have 120 dex at level 55 with my gear on and everything else into strength. Now I don't worry about the 10 to vita though.
I find the damage bonus from the 10 extra strength more benificial tbh. If you're gonna be tanking though go for the vit, or even if you just prefer that life bonus, by all means.
Play it exactly how you would a fighter.
