I'm used to casters, never been good at melee chars in any game.
Just wondering how well a caster build does on a samurai before
I reroll a lvl 32.

It does well if you have good gear.

You can be dealing high amounts while tanking with heavy armors which is one potential greater than the mage, but of course the mage has higher mana.

On HC, I personally used a 35+ Int Sword, 35+ Int Armor, 120 EE+ Charm along with a decent heal charm at level 55 which had decent results and had me easily mq'ing.

Of course gear on SC will be cheaper for Heavy Casters, so you have the advantage of getting a nice heavy caster.

I'd go melee from 1-55, but place all your stats in Intelligence, from your first 10 points to the last point you receive.

However, despite it being a decent caster, I'd suggest waiting until you pass to Paladin first and then going caster.

They're balanced out well with stats, have 10 more starting Intelligence, and make excellent casters with good gear.

Why you would want to cast on one of the best statted melee characters (and one of the worst casters) in the game is beyond me - unless you had extremely sexy gear.

I'd persevere as a melee. (but remember you don't get any stats from your acc charm ;))

So it's better to stay melee. *sigh* that's a shame.
