So I started my mage and put my first 10 into intel.

I'm learning now that for hardcore I probably should have put those first 10 into vit.

Will I be at a disadvantage if I now put my 10-20 lvl-up points into vit. and then go back to intel.?
Do the points stack progressively or anything like that?

your only lvl 9 I would reroll and put then into vit. On HC ppl say you need around 50 vit. Then you put into intel

Reroll and get your vita up to 50 and then put the rest into intelligence.

For every point you put into vitality you gain 2 life immediately and then on every level up you gain the same amount of max life as your vitality. So that's why it's smart to put to vitality from the beginning and it works the same way for intelligence and mana as well.

So how do I reroll? ...and what does reroll actually mean i guess?

On the screen where you select characters just click on the character you want to reroll and press the reroll button. Then type it into the box and you'll see that you're level 0 and have no class. Click on the character again and choose a class and you'll start out back at level 1 with all your original stat points. You keep all your items, kills, proficiencies, and all that fun stuff.
