I've looked through all the guides and still haven't found any info on how a person completes a MQ.

I just started 2 days ago, so I'm not going to complete it anytime soon, but I just want to get as much info as possible up front.

Can anyone let me know how these quests are done?

Reach lv 71, unlock the sequence of doors with keys. If you are successful you will unlock the next class, and your char resets so you can roll samurai.
If you fail the quest your char still resets, you just gotta climb to 71 and try again?

also word of advice for you, the lvl 25 weapon is better than your lvl 35 weapon :)
