Should i be using heavy weapons like battle axe? or an axe/ sword?

it is all about your preference

battle axe is a heavy weapon : it means their dmg is higher and better but your hit is slower ( half fast than a normal weapon ) and they're quite rare and expensive.

if you start ls, you should go with the normal weapons ( easier )

vouch, and it will be way harder to build a whole set of the same kind of heavy weap.
