I have 36 fg and I am looking to start a new character on softcore. This is to be my main character for starting off and making some forum gold. Right now I have started a rogue because they are cheap but I am wondering whether if I have a bit of fg (36) I might want to start with something else. Let me know what you think I should do. I appreciate the input.

I would go for a mage or barb. Mages are cheaper on higher levels to obtain reasonable damage, and since it's on sc it's not a big deal if you die once or twice.

Staff rogues are the cheapest..but they also can't solo @ higher levels..then again with 36 fg nothing you make will be able to.

Well I mean I hope to start making some forum gold at some point. I could also probably get people I know to give me some more fg. But I'd rather do as much of it myself as I can.

I really don't know what to tell you..but a good option would be to make a staff rogue and use it to maze cata w/

there is a guide by OoOPeterOoO somewhere that I find to be pretty good.

and join a guild that pays for guild points..When your poor staff rogues are the quickest characters to MQ with and when you MQ you'll be payed for your points..generally 100 fg per point..could be more or less depending on guild you join.

It's a good way for new people to earn there first fg though most people choose to end up in a guild they like rather than one that pays after they've made enough fg to support themselves lol

Plus you could sell any mutes you found during your trips to MQ.
