People usually use Lightning for that, but it's all about personal preference if you like consistent or wild damage.

i know that consistency / wild damage is based on preference. but just pretend i have no preference and i want the best possible charm for the cheapest price. which types are the cheapest in the current market yet still really effective

Lightning are typically the cheapest

Wind are usually around the same price

which is better :-p if both have the same EE

Not enough difference to matter.

Lightnings are starting to get a bit more expensive imo because they have been branded the "cheapest"

Eithier one is fine whichever one you can get better ee on cheaper.
