Right now I have a lvl 38 barb, which was my first char in ls. My damage is pretty weak imo and I can't really afford to get better stuff.

I'm trying to get fg to fund a welling mage or something.

I've put all my stats so far into Dex, but a lot of people seem to like full str axe barbs over 120 dex axe barbs.

what is cheaper and more efficient in your opinion?

I've heard dex raises chances for crits and reduces damage, while str helps your dmg overall.

Edit: If you could give me a few tips on hwo I should improve gear: http://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?c=3&i=254595&p=225712

Comes down to personal preference really I guess..

But if I were new I'm not sure i'd go 120 dex as if you can't afford stat armor + charm @ a decent ee weapon @ 55+ your going to struggle.

I'd probably go full str but thats just me personally of the two options..But I can't really comment *Yet* I'm making a full strength paladin atm so I've never truly tryed a full str build.

all you need is 120 with gear @ 55

But if you are already lvl 40 I'd just continue the build how you planned it.

Since once you reach 40 your over half way there.

Will you be able to manage over 100 str if you go 120 dex build? @ 55 with gear?

More is always better.

But 100 would be decent enough to make due.

You could try a 100 dex / Rest str build

I tryed it once and it didn't seem that bad really..that way you can still critical for up to 3x your base damage (Unlikely you'll crit that much due to low-ish dex but over double isn't out of the question)

If I didn't think I could afford terribly good gear I'd just go 100/ Rest str since you already have way to much in dex to be a pure str build just amp the dex down a step and put those extra 20 points into strength.

Though melee rogue cata builds are best for starting people usually.

If you don't like the way this climb goes thats what I'd try next if I were you.

There is even a guide by OoOPeterOoO on how to make one and it is a good guide imo

Gives gear suggestions etc smile.gif

Melee rogues have notoriously the cheapest cost of high ee weapons

and there armor is usually cheap as well since there are much more medium armors than their are people that play rogues.

Usually if you Cata with them you can make a good one for cheap and MQ quickly (well quickly in comparison to other characters)

Here is the link if you're interested:

If your looking for cheap but quick melee rogue is the way to go as long as you plan to use catas (They have low defense but moderate to high damage..so they need the players in the front to take the damage while they melee from the back row) Soloing with a melee rogue once you reach the high levels is very..well hard thats why I say you need to depend on catas to lvl..but that isn't really much trouble there are usually a lot of teams throughout the day.
