Alright.. so I've rolled two mages so far, one died at 7 lol.. I decided I should A.) Never stop playing HC, regardless if I'm just starting out or not- play hard. Next I decided B.) I should find out how I can get fg donations (the 20 I have is from d2 items and for my d2 char.. I have .95 to spend in here! lol).. finally, C.) To read the forums to learn more.

What I'm finding is that, even for a mage, people suggest 10 into vit right off the bat. I would like to know everyone's opinion on this..? Since Int is tied to damage, and being a damage class, wouldn't it be rational to go all Int?

Second question- does vitality gear still add to the +hp at level? I would think not =/

Third.. I looked in the ladder and saw most people prefer Fire over the other elemental charms. Understandable, decent damage with decent range. But back to the whole mage idea of being a dps class.. wouldn't lightning be better since they all average roughly the same in dps, but lightning has higher burst damage?

I guess the main question is.. before I have to reroll again.. or maybe I already do lol.. why the first 10 in vit then rest into Int? Is it simply an economical choice? Or will it make a huge impact? I ask this because I have a tendency to be anal with my characters (mind out of the gutter pl0x). Really though.. playing HC in a new game? But I also have to have the "perfect build" everytime.. for instance, d2, All vit. Every character. Get my eg shield if I am to have one, max block, rest vit. One point wrong I reroll. SO. Back to this game. If the 10 into vit is simply to provide a little durability in lower levels, then gg, I won't roll it.. but if it makes or breaks a character end game.. =/ Please let me know a little more on this functionality lol

1) 10 vita first then rest in Int is great. +10 Vita will give you +10 more life for every level you gain ( +700 life @ lvl 71 because you added +10 vita )
then the rest in INT because Intelligence increases your damages!

2) yes , for ex, you have 40 vita @ lvl 1 , you'll gain + 40 life every time you gain a level wink.gif

3) it just depends , winds and light are cheaper because their dmg are not constant and most people prefer constant dmg so they choose ice or fire. I lvoe lightening personnaly^^

So far I've notice that the lightning is gimping me on dmg, but I still love the idea of burst. So I think I'm going to stick with lit the long hall lol

I'm still a little confused on the other two questions though =/

So 10 vit base points will add 30 hp per level. gg I got that now, it does make a difference =P So my question then is- what is the benefit to 10 in int? Will the dmg also climb per level the same as hp would have? In that case, say at 70, I could either have 700 extra hp, or X amount of damage increase? Just from those first 10 base stat points.

Secondly, the whole gear at level.. so if I have, say the base 20 vit. I am about to hit a level. I swap out my gear for +30 extra vit on gear lets say. When I ding, will I have gained only the 20 from the base stats? Or 50 because my current vit says 50 with gear on?

Alright, so the last part, about the gear, I just dinged with 24 vit, (4 from equip), and gained only 20 hp. So that answers that =P

But I'm still curious as to the bonus to 10 int instead of 10 vit at the beginning. 700 hp at 70 vs X damage.. will X be a very low number (i.e. it's non cummulative.. or is it? 0.0)

10 vita helps a lot in hc smile.gif

in sc you don't care about dying and you have heal charm to heal so you put 10 int to get more dmg ^^

but in Hc, it is harder so you better put +10 in vita smile.gif
