For somone that is new yes, that weap would get the job done if stats are placed correctly but i would consider upgrading this asap in your next couple climbs.

stats lots of dex for crits at 40 i would say around 80-100 dex depending on char
Str also adds to your dmg it shows the same dmg as a 1;1 ratio str/ee
