Try to check this guilde ( Made by me ) : http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=17895472&f=272

Points

Mage start with :
Strenght : 20
Dexterity : 50
Intelligence : 60
Vitality : 20
Stat Points Remaining: 10

Put your first 10 point into Vitality, because when you are high level ( 60+ ) monster can critical until 1000 damage so you need some life. So now you have

Mage start with :
Strenght : 20
Dexterity : 50
Intelligence : 60
Vitality : 30

Edit : You can also put all your 10 points into Intelligence but I tried this build too and I really prefered the vitality build, but it’s your choice.

From Level 1-71 : You put all you points into Intelligence

This build is a very nice build. You do get hit critical hits at high levels and the vita is almost neccesary. I am trying a 5 vita build right now. Wont know how it is till higher levels though. But anyways if you needed more opinions I would tell you to go with this

imo i just put all my points into int, since ur heal charm if u get a pretty good decent one can heal nearly 3rd of ur heath per click. this is what i do with my mage

1-10 i just shrine items since my charm can take me there without a problem

10-30 i use this charm

Magical focused heal V
Level Req: 10
Heals: 71 to 85
Mana Cost: 45

with my gears (+10 int weapon, +20 int armor) this will give u about 100-200+ (around there) heal which is like what, a third of ur life?

from 30-55 i use this charm
Rare focused heal IX
Level Req: 30
Heals: 140 to 168
Mana Cost: 85

+89% Enhanced Effect
+9% Experience Gained

from my nears 30's i have an armor/weapon with about 30+int, really its up to u to buy how much int u want but its recommended to have very high int since this will give u a boost of offensive/heal charms effects.

stating wise it depends on preferance.
if you want a higher life mage, then put first 10 into vitality then rest into intelligence
if you want a balanced mage then put 5 into vita/5 into intelligence then every other point into intelligence
if you want a high mana mage then put all 10 into intelligence.

if you go with 10 vitality first, then expect to mana regen a lot more frequently.
if you go with 10 intelligence first, invest in a nice heal charm, so you can convert mana into life when needed.
