im not sure if i got you right, but most people refer to the term mq gear when they speak of gear that can bring them to the master quest.
usually its level 50 or 55 gear with very nice stats like ee or mass dex/str/int one uses to reach level 71 as fast as possible.
the better the gear, the faster you can make your way to the mq.
e.g. if i got a fighter setup with a lvl 55 100 ee sword, a 50 dex charm and a life steal heavy armor i wear until i am level 71,
i would refer to this gear as my master quest gear.
the quest itself is based on luck only, not the items you are wearing at the time you attempt to the master quest.
it doesnt make any difference what exactly you wear at the time you attempt, just the way until there is depending on gear.
gear influences your climbing speed up to 71. if you can level up to 71 5 times with good gear, the chance is higher that you
pass at least one of these tries then if you have very low gear and can just climb 1 time up to 71 in the same period of time.
but as its luck, it may happen you have to do 20 attempts until you pass or just 1.
