Hi slashers,
I got a nice armor with +8 Critical Strike ability, but when playing with it I didn't notice much of a difference. So I decided to spend half an hour testing to see how much Critical Strike actually helps--
I tested 300 attacks with a +8 critical strike charm versus no critical strike, using a weapon with consistent damage (tier II axe) so that it was clear which hits were normal damage and which ones were crits.
Here were the results:
93 dex, +0 critical strike, vs lvl 15 monster: 51/300 crits
93 dex, +8 critical strike, vs lvl 15 monster: 46/300 crits
This suggests that critical strike is not working. The chances of a getting a crit with 93 dex and +0 critical strike is about 16%, and with +8 critical strike, it should be 24%. Instead, I only got 15% crits with 93 dex and +8 critical strike.
You might argue the numbers are too small and I just got unlucky. Plugging these numbers into a simple chi square statistical test, the probability of getting 46/300 crits with a 24% crit rate is 0.002. Pretty unlikely. So does Critical Strike simply not work?
Appreciate your help!
