i have a barb and am missing almost every three hits...do i just need to get better items or should i put more into dex? thanks

Is it u miss? Or you just hit 0?

Your problem is that you are using a lvl 0 wep with no enhanced effect and the monsters you are fighting have enough defense to block some of the hits you are throwing at them.

You need a better weapon, something with enhanced effect. preferably lvl 10 for your level, and you should continue to get new weapons every 5-10 levels for good damage.
