Im quite new to ladder slasher i have some time each day i can play and is rather enjoyable, anyways.

I have a level 9 Guardian, i have no clue what i should be stating or looking for in gear.

I have basically no problem clearing maps (I Full clear is this good?)

Currently have lots of max life gear on with big heal charms and EE Wep.

I Guess just some early game suggestions are helpful, Stating & Skilling.

When do i start raiding and joining groups to clear maps. also have lots of maps.

Any guilds looking for a player who can play a couple hours a day?

Edit: i wrote paladin in title, its a guardian

whilst i'm sure izparagonzi will be summoned because you wrote that you used guardian, you would be one of the few to use one.

There are significant downsides for guardians:
1. Lower starting strength/dexterity, this basically means you deal significantly less damage than other classes
2. As guardians "should" make use of their high intelligence, you need to buy 4 items instead of 3
3. Their gear is significantly limited. Clubs and heavy weapons is not a good selection.

Their advantages:
1. They can heal and tank, which is an usual combination. The issue is that in general you don't want to put additional points into intel, so their heals are significantly worse than mages who then doubly use intelligence for big heals and big damage

And that's it.
In general you'll find a barb to be significantly simpler to climb
All points into either strength/vitality, i recommend getting 90-100 vitality asap then start adding some strength.
There's generally no downside to the barb. Fighter is practically the same with a better starting ability but worse stats.

In general if you're new you solo, groups are generally not really available, especially lvl 30+

As Bigheaded stated, I would make my points to Guardian, but in actuality I read the post because of Paladin.

It is personal choice.

Heavy Weapons deal Double Damage @ 1.8 sec delay vs normal weapons @ 1 sec delay normal damage. Thus Str / Dex is not really that much of an issue... personal opinion here.

I agree with Barbarian being the best character class to use as a beginner because it has less restrictions and high stats (Str/Vit) ... Guardian if restricted, yet can be useful as stated as a Tank / Back up healer... however that isn't as effective as a Caster / Healer in a group that deals mass damage and heals.

I like Guardians, in fact when I started, I tested it out, I thought they were junk, so I went Barbarian, and then I saw a Guild member go Guardian and become welcomed in group runs, I re-tested the Guardian, and found out that they had more potential than given credit for... however, after updates, they became more obsolete and only Casters ruled the group runs as long as they had the gear, even Off Casters were better as long as they have the gear... the difference with a Guardian, if you have the gear, you can easily deal mass damage, tank and be a healer, the difference, you can not deal Cast damage.

Every other character class can.

But you may find Barbarian more to your play style.

I’m having great success with a Guardian currently, are you saying it falls off and another class is more worth while in the long run?

When should I use maps, early is fine? Or save for later?

maps are practically pointless without large bonuses. +1 well maps will sell, note that maps have a mob level limit, so if it's tier 1, max mob level is 15, so you will get bad drops/exp if you are level 16+ in a tier 1 map.
+5 mob levels per tier.

note that the difficulty scales very quickly, also let me ask, how often are you actually healing yourself? if you're not healing yourself then a barb just simply more damage and has easier weapons to buy/find

you're more than welcome to continue playing a guardian if thats what you want to do

i have 5xMap
+6 Treasure chests
109% Warm Light Effectiveness
+6% Stealth

then a guild point map and a +1 room 2% swarm map, the one map i listed above sounds good just have no clue if it is.

I Only heal when i drop below 300hp (890 max) and/or to keep from max mana.
im on my first map now and its really the first time im healing, non map catacombs i don't think i heal at all

Heavy weapons drop rate is lower than other normal weapons ... so you are after Clubs (cheap, and can not be used on Samurai which is the unlocked class).

Do maps when you like, make sure you use them at the right time also.

Tier I maps = Monster level cap 15, so you can start these @ level 10 and complete a stack of 5 before reaching level 15.
Tier II maps = Monster level cap 20, start at around level 15 or 10 if you want.
Tier III maps = Monster level cap 25, start at level 15 or 20.

Tier IV (level 5 Map) ... just add 25 to the Level Req = level 30 monster cap... start at 20.
Tier V (level 10 Map + 25 = Monster level cap 35) ... repeat this number over again and again.
... Note: The dimensions of the maps increase in size, so some maps mean you have to start them at the level req... like level 45 @ 45.

+Swarm is a bad modifier.

+EP / chests / Well / Totems / Drop Quantity or Quality & Monster Difficulty % are good to have.

Hope you enjoy your runs further.

Oh, if you don't have the right gear, at higher levels you will be healing more often, so sometimes it maybe better to shrine.

yeah i've been having to shrine from time to time in my last catacomb, currently 25 just upgraded a couple items so hopefully more successful than my last
