It's not exactly written, but I can tell you from experience swords crit more frequently than dagger.

The base ratio for swords is geared towards more crits. 75/25 compared to 10/90, the lesser number (in ratio to the higher one) influences critical hits. It is very difficult to get the ratio for daggers spot on, where swords is a lot easier to get close to the correct ratio.

It's a lot of math, and I may have not worded it quite right, but that should be an explanation.

50/50 would be better or no? :p

I want to know if I buy axes or swords, since both are kinda same but axes are more average hit, sword are like 14-140

swords 75/25 ratio

i suggest axe and daggers , you can play every melee class with that.
and you only need dex charms.

As I told you earlier, it's not about which ratio is better, but what type of strategy you choose.

Best option for "long shot" players are daggers, axes + dex gear as patl mentioned too. However daggers are the most expensive weapons (well, comparable to swords maybe) and you need to buy axes as well.

Check this:

You can go through first 3 classes with sword, so you need only 1 type of weapon. You said

I just want to play to farm some nice gear. :p

so if you are not interested in reaching ninja, warlock, head hunter, alchemist, all you need are swords with str. --> cheap option

Otherwise:
axes, daggers, dex gear, then ee charms, staves and robes with int (for warlock and alchemist) --> expensive option

Okay that's right I want to stay with warrior ( which I think is the best for solo ).

So I just, take warrior and I buy whatever weps I want...?

You said,

I just want to stay with one, why do you say 3 classes, is it better to farm with a monk or something? :o

I'm probably just gonna buy swords and str charm...

inorder to unlock the next tier of classes, u need to first pass ur first MQ, then after that, u have to pass next MQ using the 2nd tier of class to unlock the 3rd, so so on and so forth

Like i said, are swords really the best? because, axes are like 75-95 which is like 85 average

swords are like 14-140 which is 60 average.

So are they're better?

I really dunno and don't tell me you already answered etc, I want to be 100% sure before spending fgs etc.

http://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/index.php?g=3

Tier XIV axe is 70-84, not 75-95

84-70 = 14
14/2 = 7
70+7 = 77

140-14 = 126
126/2 = 63
14+63 = 77

^There you see swords and axes have the same average damage. The value of a weapon type is determined by how many and what classes can use them. Swords are expensive because you can use them on feeder - samu - pala and then ninja.
