Hope this helps to clarify how to gain proficiency.

1 - You must be at least 1 level above your proficiency rank.
2 - You must deal at least 1 damage/heal.
3 - You cannot gain more than 10 pts per mob.
4 - You must use an item within 10 lvls. Otherwise, you will not gain proficiency
5 - You cannot gain proficiency passed lvl 70 unless you are healing.
6 - You will gain 1 point within 1-3 actions.
7 - You will not gain proficiency vs weak well mobs. (ie: Level 55 character vs level 15 white well monster)

im using a level 25 sword, im currently lvl 49 !

what if you are using a level 55 and you are lvl 67?

You do gain then. I gain prof all the way up until I hit level 72 solo. Need to check on this 10 level thing though as I use my level 40 axe until I get to level 55. May take some time as I usually climb solo. If anyone else can verify, please add info. Thanks

I would wager GimmeCoffee or someone in labyrinth did in fact test the 10 level thing!

im really starting to think this prof thing is forumla based !

im still gaining prof with my corrent sword, its just damn slow !

I was testing some out when my dagger prof was close to hitting level 15 the other week. I noticed your prof drops a bit down one trap door. After the first td....like 2 or more, it becomes almost non-existant. I reset map if I fall through more than 1 td now

i know its either 10 lvls or 15 lvls. It was implemented to prevent prof farming.

thinking about it more, its most likely 15 lvls. (ie: L25 weapon vs lvl 40 mobs)

not everyone can afford gear every 5/10 levels.



yes. tds will reduce the amount of prof pts you gain.

i dont get why because tds spawn harder mobs, but paul has confirmed it.

so, if you want to gain the most amount of prof, remake after falling down or dont go down if your class can detect tds.
