I prefer 5 initial points into vitality. I have gone all intel and found at the hgher levels I spend a ton of mana healing. Five intial points into vitality will give you an extra 450 or so life at level 64 vs an all intel build.

The extra life will serve you well.

Do 5/5. If/When you get some crazy gear, you can try the 10int route, but as the above posters said, you will have a bunch less life, so you will need to have some nice healing power to stay alive, and nice damage so you can actually kill before you run out of juice. 10 Vit does work nice too, but you will have a lower mana pool.

You could just fail a whole bunch like me and have lots of points to play with, my welling kicks ass now!

From my experience.. 10 vit base works well. (Voted 10vit base)

Eventually youre going to run into a crit happy mob and the extra life will help ya survive.
