if your doing a all str build you want a AXEsettup EE Armor and a Str Charm


all dex settups usually arnt even all dex because after a certain point the dex stops helping your dmg...


also if your doing an all dex settup i would make a dex staff rogue but i would still recomend adding at least 10 vita at start..


edit: for which is better.... the dex staff rogue if you have no fg but other than that i would never make a dex or str only char

Pure str = dumb
Pure dex = even dumber

Str + 20 = Dex

Doesn't matter if you are using a axe or sword
I've actually heard that dex is even more effective on a Axe than a Sword, just because a sword can crit < max damage where a axe will always crit > max damage

yes but axe has smaller range of dmg so the higher the dmg is it doesnt really matter how much crits u do because at the most you will hit a 100 differnce

not necessarily true. my last climb i had 90 dex with an axe setup and would crit 3x the base max dam

my point is without dex u do 200-300 dmg what hes saying with dex u do 300 every time

so would u rather crit everything doing 500 dmg every time or add str and do over 700 dmg....


str adds dmg dex makes u do crits. Axes dont have high crits so common sense would tell you str i just cant explain it better

Lrn2melee before giving misleading and false advice

1. A crit is always 2x damage + up to an additional 1.5x based on crit factor
2. A sword does not always have high crits, it can also crit in the low end (which you would not even notice)
-Conclusion...Average crit damage is the same!

That 500 damage axe will crit at 1000, and probably even closer to 1.3-1.5 (depending on dex), not at only 600

Dex also has the added benefit of reducing the number of crits you take and the damage on crits

For solo arena your str should be 20 more than dex to get the maximum benefit
For catacombs I would say a little more strength just because mobs have less life (maybe +30)

Also, the reason I would say dex is better on axes is because crits ignore defence, so it contributes more to an axes average output. (undercut being the cause there)

ok w/e u want either way Pure dex or pure str still suxor but i guess i dont know melee sorry
