Do your proficiencies reset after the latter done or do you get to keep them?

Very outdated guide. Most of the guides are outdated. If the guide is older than a year ago you're better off not reading it at all in most cases

When they first came out they reset with the ladder. But Paul changed it for a couple reasons, one of which being to give death some sort of penalty to softcore players as to discourage from using "suicide wellers", which was basically just a char that they would park at 64 to well and then intentionally die so they would not go above level 64 for the easiest mobs who give the best drops. But that doesn't affect us now because the well was removed from town anyways. So yeah, I definitely agree with the advice above to not read any guides more than a year old
