What would be the best weapon type to use on a Barbarian?

If you want consistent medium damage - Axes
If you want higher, but more eratic and less reliable - Swords

clubs are cheapest swords can be used on barb sammy and pally and axes are good for barb also...all weapons do the same damage if str-dex ratio is proper. imo

Go for swords

dual axes all day my friend.

put 75 to dex, save all stats to use on vita..none into strength atm! try to use strength charms n gear, to gear your gear n put rest of stats to vita.
lvld naked till u can put on enigma/war travs/drac gloves/t gods belt or ik belt for the strength/highlords ammy/bk + raven ring or two..
i use a lw and grief for weps (axe)
or frenzy swords.. 3 bo weps on switch or 2, 6 bo ctas.
sum people like to use ss shield.. i prefer 2 weps (swords or axes).
put 1 skill point to ironskin,1 to sword or axe mastery, depends on witch weps u hav, axes are preferd
put 1 to shout etc n max ur battle orders after you max frenzy, double swing and bonuses..

Im thinking two hard n dont feel like looking at a barb atm so you u get the picture n go from here..
alot of people like wirl wind barbs.. but ive never built one.. guta luv the uber frenzy barb

Although sword prices are high, and like Weeblewoble said they can be used on the first three classes. If i were you i would save up and buy swords. Dont get discouraged about the prices. Slowly save and upgrade, cuz if you do it will save you from having to buy an entire new set of gear which imo would cost a lot more than just one

e/ also try to stick to one set so you can build profinciencies, they help a lot one you get good profinciency

On a barbarian, i would prefear Axes.
If you want to use Clubs or Swords, go for a Fighter

club and staff are good weapons for starters since they are the cheapest from all the other weapons

barb's can only use clubs and not staff from what i said so go with club
