I just start playing LS again and I'm level 31 now. I noticed that gear only goes to level 55 in requirement. Does that mean that only the best of the best weapons are good at high levels? ( which is probably going to cost a tonne of fg )

"Cheap" is a relative term..cheap to you could be insanely expensive to others.

I'm sorry but I started out with 0fg aswell on softcore when the game was 10 times as hard, and afterwards did two 0fg climbs on HC.
