well ive been thinking about quitting WoW but theres no other MMOs that are running well to play or just dont have an established end game content that i want to drive for.

i was wondering some things about Warhammer. such as:
-how is leveling? ie; grinding, questing
-is there PvE and PvP type worlds where you cant get ganked? if not is there ganking in general?
-what exactly is RvR?
-what kind of end game content is there?
-many bugs or lag issues?

1) You have rank and renown rank. Rank is something like level. You can reach for now 40 rank max. You can get exp for rank by making: quests, killing monsters, killing players, public quests, scenarios, etc. Renown rank you can get to 80 max. You can't have higher renown rank than your rank until 37 rank. After this you can bring up your renown rank up to 80. How to get renown rank? Killing players, taking keeps, battle objectives, fortess, etc. Your rank (like level) you can grind easy, as far as i know you can reach 40 rank in 3-4 days (hardcore grinding). Renown Rank is more dif to rank up. For example i have 1month play (in game time!) and i reach 65 renown rank.

2) In server open rvr you can fight everywhere. On core servers you have rvr zones and "safe" zones. You must remember one thing. In warhammer online you have tiers:
I tier for ranks: 1-11
II tier for ranks: 12-21
III tier for ranks: 22-31
IV tier for ranks: 32-40

In open RvR servers you can find everywhere, but with some limits. Your 21 rank char can go to tier one, but your char from tier III if go to tier I will be chicken status: you have change to chicken, your life is poor, your atack is poor, basically anyone can kill you without problem. In core servers you character can go to lower tier, but only to PVE zones. If you go in your tier II char to tier I, and you go to rvr zone chicken again

3) RVR: realm vs realm. You have two realms:
1) destruction (bad guys): greenskins, dark elfs and chaos
2) order (good guys): dwarfs, elfs and humans

RvR basically means that two realms fighting with each others. Order alliance fighting vs destruction alliance. You can't fight like dwarfs vs humans. Only 1 realm vs second.

4) Your realm must kill king of other realm. How to do it? You must lock 2 of 3 zones. How to do it? You must take fortess in each zone. When you take fortess capital sige with 3 stages. In third stage you fight vs king. If you kill him you take king to cage and bring it to your capitol to make /Lol on him End content is not good for now. Many players complain about to much pve in this.

5) Lags, not good balance, etc. You must try out to see.


Anyway if you want to try something difrent, warhammer online is good for this. If you don't like, no worry, but for me, this is the best MMO for now in market. I just don't enjoy WoW.

Leveling is easy. The quests are a worthless waste of time. The games main story line is something you have to research because it has no cut scenes.

The story is the same old fantasy medieval lord of the rings wannabe crap we have been way over saturated in and I wish it would die and never come back.

The public quest feature seems very cool, however, the servers are so dead you will never find anyone doing them even on the busiest servers.

You will always get ganked in Pvp because the way it is set up is 2 sides ram into each other and smash the same skills over and over until they or their target dies. The whole pvp revolves around corny scenarios and the gameplay of pvp feels the opposite of smooth and it caters to 12 year olds who can't think strategy.

If you want a game to Pvp on I would no doubt recommend guild wars. Just make a pvp only character and do some research on the skills and use pvx wiki to get an idea of what makes a good build. I never get tired of guild wars Pvp, but be warned that its Pve is almost as bad as warhammers. Stay away from it! The best Pve experience i can recommend is diablo 2 hardcore mode(though its not technically an MMO). There is a new patch with a whole new story being added to it in a few weeks and it will be awesome.

The most fun I have ever had on an MMO though is when Runescape first came out(2001). It was complete anarchy. You could attack anyone anywhere and you could not store items in the bank(just cash) so when you killed someone you got all of their best gear and when you died you would be pissed. Clans formed by necessity because it was most beneficial to move in packs to protect yourself and others while mining and smithing to get better pking gear. I love cut through games like that, but of course it only took a few months for them to turn that game into the cater to the 12 year old pussies by making is a safe skill grind game it is today. I am tired of this no risk garbage. Without risk, there is no thrill. Hurray for Diablo 2 Hardcore mode!

i know this isnt what is asked in the post but i need to tell this to someone who wants the game

as a hardcore player who have been in war sience open beta i would say that this game is not not made for serius players.
i have done everything in this game including the worlds first king kill so i should know. my sub ran out a week ago and im not resubbing

dont get me wrong i loved the game. i wouldnt advise anyone to start playing it now. but if they have had asked when the game started i would
but the problem is that this whole rvr rely on other players to make your fun.
people on the loosing side stops playing becouse its not fun for them to get buttraped.
and for the ones who is fighting progress is being stopped. we have not been able to lock down a stage in altdorf (order city) for a couple of months, even if we win everything everywhere and got alts doing the lower lvl scenarios.
they basiclyfucked us after we killed the king.
then the whole wow way of thinking came. lets make the set items so easy that a 10 yearold can get them. and when everyone got it lets open up so they can get the mext set before the ones who have had it for months can get anything better

this game is for casuall player who wants to get what the hardcore players have fought for in months in a couple of days
all serius players starting to leav becouse u cant stay forever just becouse of your loyalty to your guild

Before they carebeared up... ah for a full balls to the wall kill em all and take it all game again.. [I loved being a newb in UO only problem was playing on the 600ms ping]
