these codes are to get you some sort of book of whatever that boosts your stats

It's real but:



- The code itself may be hard to get, but what you gain is pretty much useless as it only boosts your stats by very little, and could decrease a useful stat. (Example, you use this on a sorcerer, and it boosts toughness and decreases intelligence)
- This is an illegal trade

Illegal trade indeed, and if he scams you, you wont be able to get him locked/scammer tagged.
