Yeah, Its pretty sad. WoW is going to ruin any other MMORPG that will come out for years and years. Blizzard made a game that could be played at any age, and with no skill (for the most part). That and the fact that Blizzard tends to make very addictive games. Being a game that anyone and everybody could play, they raked in the money pretty fast. They used that money to make the game better. It got better, more people played. More money = more better. Now that Blizzard has a bagillion dollars, its going to use that money to make sure their MMO will be able to stomp out and ruin any other MMO to hit the market. Usally by stealing whatever good ideas they had. Thus ruining the uniqueness of the game.
Well i would not really say they are destroying the "uniqueness" of other games.
But its a fact a good mmo needs alot of $$$ along with it, since the mmo players are demanding ALOT (mainly thanks to wow).
Hence many mmo's fail at the lack of orginiality/bringing something exciting to the table or just lack the $$ to make it the worthwhile in the end.
Basicly i lost my interested in mmo's and only really looking forward to Diablo III multiplayer wise. (i just HATE games where you have to have loads of time to actually achieve something, although warhammer was pretty good in short sessions aswell)
The only bright thing on the mmo market would be the Bioware mmo (starwars theme), (any game they make is just pure quality, and without looking at a review or whatever i would buy their games straight away).
But its a the very beginning stage and could still be canceled and even if they put it trough, would take like 3-4 or more years to actually hit the shelves.
And by then il be way to old to put loads of hours into a mmo.
